Bourbon Renewal

Jeffrey Morgenthaler's 2004 bourbon sour from Eugene, Oregon. Bourbon, lemon, and crème de cassis with a dash of Angostura.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz BourbonMore Bourbon cocktails
  • 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • ½ oz Crème de Cassis
  • ½ oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters

Garnish: Lemon wedge, or fresh currants in season

How to make it

  1. Add the bourbon, lemon juice, cassis, syrup, and bitters to a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake until well chilled.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with a lemon wedge, or fresh currants in season.
