Original Tequila Sunrise

The older Sunrise linked to Phoenix's Arizona Biltmore, made before orange juice took over. Tequila, lime, cassis, and soda.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Blanco TequilaMore tequila cocktails
  • ¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • ¾ oz Crème de Cassis
  • ¼ oz Grenadine, in the Biltmore's current version (optional)
  • Soda Water

Garnish: Lime wedge or blood orange wheel

How to make it

  1. Fill a collins glass with ice and add the tequila and lime juice.
  2. Top with soda water.
  3. Slowly pour the crème de cassis (and grenadine, if using) so it sinks to the bottom.
  4. Garnish with a lime wedge or a blood orange wheel.
