Improved Holland Gin Cocktail
From the 1876 edition of Jerry Thomas's guide. Genever sweetened and lifted with maraschino, absinthe, and bitters.

- 2 oz Genever
- 2 barspoon Maraschino LiqueurMore Maraschino Liqueur cocktails
- 1½ barspoon Simple Syrup, rich 2:1
- ½ barspoon AbsintheMore Absinthe cocktails
- 2 dash Angostura Bitters
Garnish: Lemon twist
How to make it
- Add the genever, maraschino, syrup, absinthe, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until well chilled.
- Strain into a chilled Nick and Nora glass.
- Garnish with a lemon twist.
